Hey, friend hey!!!

So I'm back with another One Room Challenge and I'm so stinking excited!

In this year's Fall One Room Challenge I'll be taking on my builder grade laundry room and turning it into a luxurious muli-purpose laundry space that will include the works!

If you've never heard of the One Room Challenge, it's an 8 week challenge where a bunch of us design enthusiasts get together and take on a project in our home.

You can check them out by CLICKING HERE...

I first introduced you to the one room challenge back in the spring, but I started late and was not prepared for the pace, but this time I've taken my time to plan and started early and we will finish this project and I can't wait to share the journey with you.

So let's hop into these design plans shall we????

Fall 24 One Room Challenge Participant

Why I'm tackling the laundry room

When we built our home we didn't add any upgrades to the laundry room.

The options for customizing the space were limited and I always knew that I wanted a Pinterest worthy laundry room and I would one day be able to design it myself and here we are.

We're a family of 6 with a big dog and I wanted to make this space function not only for laundry and be a dark hole that I don't want anyone to see when they com over but instead be a space that truly serves our family's needs and be beautiful at the same time.

Current Condition of the Space

It's such a mess I'm so embarassed to show you but all is not lost, I've got big plans for the space so let me share those with you now.

The laundry room is galley style measuring about 12ish feet by 6ish feet wide.

I had to get super creative in this space because I'm packing a lot of function into a very small space and I don't want it to feel cluttered or crowded.

I'm aiming to create a space that is not only functional but Instagram worthy and that takes some immense planning but I'm ready for the challenge.

Washing Machine Wall Plans

washing machine side of the laundry room
Add dog shower/plant washing station with sliding door that will house Dallas' feeding and water bowl with clothes drying rod
Add folding station with tiled backsplash and wall sconce leaving room underneath for Dallas' doggy bed and hidden storage for dirty laundry
Add countertop to ceiling storage on folding station that will store laundry supplies as well as provide a pull out ironing board
Stack the washer and dryer to provide more space for storage and create some breathing room
Add upper custom built cabinets for additional storage

The Feature Wall

Install custom wall trim and wallpaper to add additional design elements to the room without brining in more furniture or items
Replace recessed lights with pendant lights
Replace door knobs to ensure privacy to the primary bedroom's closet and add aesthetic value to the room
Paint all walls and ceiling

So now that we're all caught up on the plans, it's time for me to get to work!

In our next post I'll begin the process of removing drywall, calling an electrician and plumber out to move wires and connections so I can get in and do what I know how to do.

There's also so many amazing sponsors that I've teamed up to make this room a reality I can't wait to share them with you as well.

This is so exciting and let's get ready for an amazing next 8 weeks!

Byyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeee
